“A capacity audience was treated to top class entertainment in Galashiels when the String Jam Club staged its ‘Musician Of The Year Contest.’ Iain Petrie won the coveted award pipping his rivals with catchy songs in a style that Iain himself describes as 'organic celtic soul'. Joined by his brother Ali on keyboards, Iain impressed all with his confident relaxed style, catchy accessible songs and dynamic performance. |

Recently signed to new Scottish indie label Fourtrak Records, Iain’s debut album 'I’ll Stay By You' was released in April 2008. His music is a unique blend of folk, soul, jazz and 60’s influenced British pop, with memorable melodies and quirky arrangements. He describes his music as ‘organic celtic soul’ and nowhere is this more obvious than in his live performances. Iain plays with an experienced and innovative 4-piece band, comprising his brother Alastair (keyboards, bass & pianos), Orren Karp (electric guitar & vocals) and Alan Cranston (drums, percussion and vocals), whose other credits include Hobotalk, Average White Band and The Junction Pool. |
