CLUB
OF THE YEAR AWARD

String Jam Club was one of only four clubs throughout the whole of Scotland to be shortlisted for CLUB OF THE YEAR AWARD as part of the Scots Trad Music Awards 2007.
The winner was Ceol s Craic in Glasgow, which is a monthly club celebrating Gaelic Arts and Culture. Many congratulations go to them and to all the other winners in the other categories.
It was a huge honour for String Jam Club to be shortlisted for this prestigious award particularly as this event has a very traditional content and we are such an eclectic club. This kind of recognition is great for everyone who has worked so hard and given their time so generously to make our club such a success. We were very proud to have a presence there and it was very exciting to be part of what can only be described as the Scottish folk music Oscars ceremony.
There is always next year, of course. The fact that we were shortlisted this year does not preclude the same thing happening in 2008, so you can always nominate us for next year, if you are so inclined! On behalf of String Jam Club many thanks to those people who shortlisted us for this year and to everyone who took the time to vote for us.
